We finally reach Zion Park and stop to buy some trinkets.

And of course we want to look our best before we enter the park. Here is DanEBoy making Teb Bell respectable.

Then it’s off to explore the park.

Bryce is a bunch of cliffs that you drive over the top of, but Zion is a pure rock canyon.

It has a great roads that winds back and forth up the valley.

You have to almost stop at every turn for a view better than the last.

And another turn.

Just beautiful.

A good picture showing the road up the canyon.

Another favorite picture of mine.

I like the low profile of this picture.

Up through the canyon.

Zion has a tunnel going through it. Not just a short little tunnel, but one that’s over a mile long. You do not want to be wearing dark sun glasses going in here.

Now we are deep in the rock canyon.

Another shorter tunnel.

Here is Hiway Thunder and Teb Bell enjoying the views.

Plently of twisties here.

Very nice.

A self portrait.

I broke away from the group to get some pictures when I came upon the checker board hill. It was here I ran into Officer Charlie again.

The group had passed by while I was clicking away with the camera and Officer Charlie was putting his gloves back on. As I got ready to ride again Charlie looked over and said, “Let go get them!” This was an honor to ride with a motorcycle cop at high speed in twisties. For about 10 minutes Charlie and I sped out of the park, passed cars with hardly any room to, pushed speeds of 90+ mph and caught the group. That was fun. I’m looking forward to riding again someday with Officer Charlie.

Because I was having so much fun I didn’t get any pictures in this stretch. It was not until we were well outside the park that I saw my first Buffalo.

We are heading southwest on Hwy 9 to Hwy 89 where we had lunch. From here our plan is to head north on Hwy 89 to Pangutich. Hwy 89 heading north.

It was during this stretch that I decided to zoom ahead to take pictures of the group as they came by. I would pass the group and zoom ahead, pull over, take pictures, then catch up with the group again. It was during one of these zoom periods as I was cresting a ridge that I though I had my first ticket. I was doing 90 mph in a 45 mph zone when I saw the Sheriff’s SUV parked on the left side of the road. I hit the brakes and prayed to the speed gods. As I cruised by I notice the person behind the wheel isn’t moving.

As I get real close I noticed it was a dummy sitting behind the wheel. I pulled a u-turn to take a picture. As you can see the group thought I was getting a ticket and kept going. True brothers!

Hwy 89 is gentle sweeping turns through this part with lovely views everywhere. I could live here.

“Who needs to use the potty?”

Which way back to the room?

On the way back Dandee took us to this little know river spot. This was special for me because it’s spots like this that I look for when on a rally.

“Has anyone seen my contact lense?”

Here is the Utah Bridge testing team. If a bridge supports all that weight then it’s safe for public use.

Here is Hiway Thunder praying to the drift wood gods.

Hiway almost fell in several times getting to the center of the river. But you see that guy in the background? He wasn’t so lucky, he did fall in.

The half circle of bikes from 6 different states.

Now back to our rooms. Another picture I like.

Remember the light house in Cedar City? Here it is in the day light.

Our last night in Cedar city we all went over to Dandee’s house. The Dandee family were nice hosts to take us all in.
